MULLINS, S.C. — [July 8th, 2025] – SOPAKCO, a national leader in food processing and packaging since 1943, today announced a significant expansion of its operations in Marion County, South Carolina. The company will be investing $8,885,000 to remodel and enhance its current Mullins facility that will include upgraded food processing and packaging space, expanded dry storage, and a modernized finished goods warehouse.

This strategic investment reflects SOPAKCO’s continued commitment to innovation and rural economic development. The expansion is slated to begin in the second half of 2025, with construction commencing in Q3/Q4.

“This is a proud moment for our community,” said Zach McKay, Executive Director of Economic Development. “SOPAKCO’s expansion not only builds on its legacy of excellence but also reinforces Marion County’s role as a hub for food production and logistics. We’re grateful for the partnership with SOPAKCO, and we look forward to the new opportunities this will bring for our residents.”

The project is supported by Marion County Economic Development and the Northeastern Strategic Alliance (NESA), reflecting a coordinated effort to grow the region’s industrial footprint and job base.
